La Fortuna – volcano + waterfalls + hot springs

La Fortuna is one of my top recommendations in Costa Rica. Waking up to views of the Arenal Volcano, hiking through lush rainforest trails, swimming in the stunning La Fortuna Waterfall, and relaxing in natural hot springs at night — it’s the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation. You can go ziplining above the jungle, walk hanging bridges surrounded by wildlife, or simply unwind in a luxury eco-resort with volcano views. I always recommend spending at least 3-4 nights here so you can truly experience the magic without rushing. La Fortuna is exciting, peaceful, and unforgettable all at the same time.

Monteverde – cloud forest + nature lovers

Cool mountain air, misty forests, and incredible biodiversity. Walk hanging bridges, go ziplining through the canopy, or take a night wildlife tour. It feels peaceful, magical, and totally different from the beach.

Cahuita – Caribbean vibes + quiet beaches

A hidden gem on the Caribbean side with laid-back energy, colorful culture, and beautiful beaches. Perfect for snorkeling, relaxing walks through Cahuita National Park, and spotting sloths and monkeys without big crowds.

Uvita & Manuel Antonio – beaches + wildlife

One of the most beautiful national parks in Costa Rica where jungle meets the ocean. Easy hikes, stunning beaches, and tons of wildlife like monkeys, iguanas, and sloths. Great if you want both adventure and beach time in one place.
